Why buy Jacob, Hebridean, or Ryeland wool?
Our gorgeous much loved pedigree sheep are looked after by our family on our high welfare farm here in the beautiful Peak District, Derbyshire.
- Jacob's wool has a higher quality flock than other breed wools, which gives a better memory rate for use in stuffing and saddle flocking.
- Hebridean is best known for the dark, lustrous color, Hebridean wool is suitable for outer garments and blankets
- Ryeland fleece offers an abundance of lightweight warmth, and is great for making sweaters, blankets, hats and cosy garments.
As a 100% natural fibre, it's fully breathable, and is a fairly soft fibre which is excellent for weaving or carding. Its light and springy with beautiful varying levels of crimp within each strand.
Each fleece is unique in colour and pattern. This makes for a truly special one-off finished product if you love to felt, knit, or spin wool.
Our wool is unwashed raw fleece, so may contain some vegetarian matter. The pictures shown is just an example of the wool you will receive.

By buying our wool, you support our rare breed project here in the Peak District, Derbyshire. Because we are not a commercial farm, we use the profits of our Hay and Wool sales to increase our eco-friendly and bio-diversity on the farm. Currently this includes the ongoing development and increase of a beautiful ancient Timothy hay meadow.
